For week of 2/19/11: Space Shuttle Discovery in Cape Canaveral, FL

Space Shuttle Discovery on the launch pad in Cape Canaveral, FL. Only the tops of the fuel tanks are visible ... the orbiter is hidden. This shuttle launched successfully on 2/24/11 and returned safely on 3/9/11. It is the last scheduled flight for Discovery, and the second to the last shuttle flight before the shuttle program ends later this year. We took this photo while on tour at the Kennedy Space Center on 2/7/11.

The bird says, "I can fly with two simple wings." The shuttle replies, "I can fly seven million miles without refueling!"
