New Zealand was the most picturesque country on our 2016 tour. We flew into Auckland, rented a car, then drove the length of the country to the southern fjords on the South Island. This took two weeks because we had to stop so often for photos!
Below: Auckland at night from the Sky Tower.
Below: The first beautiful beaches we went to were Hahei Beach and Cathedral Cove.
Below: In Abel Tasman National Park we kayaked out to an island inhabited by New Zealand Fur Seals. We kayaked in the park for five hours straight!
Below: We hiked up near Franz Josef Glacier and Fox Glacier. So beautiful.
Below: There are more sheep than people in New Zealand, and we saw turkeys and red deer, also.
Below: Fjordlands National Park was the most beautiful area. We took boat tours in Milford Sound and Doubtful Sound.
Below: Lake Pukaki has bright blue water ... nearly fluorescent.
Below: In many places on the South Island, the wild lupine were in full bloom.
