2016 Travels
Kangaroo Island, Australia
November 22th to 25th, 2016
Kangaroo Island was a hopping good time! When we think of Australia we think of friendly people, beautiful beaches, crystal blue water, koalas, wallabies and kangaroos. This island has it all and more; it was the highlight of Australia for us.
Below: The whole island is surrounded with fabulous shoreline and beautiful blue water.

Below: At the beaches we found eight-legged starfish, crabs and lots of fur seals including a really cute pup.

Below: We saw lots of wallabies and walleroos.

Below: Goanna Lizards were hanging out in the bushes and walking across the roads (this one was nearly two feet long).

Below: Our favorite animal to watch for was the koala because they are so cute! We saw four of them in the wild including a baby that was clutching onto her mother's back.

Below: Of course we saw kangaroos - over 100 of them - including this joey with his mother. The joey would stick half his body in his mother's pouch to nurse!

Below: Near dusk it is dangerous to be driving around because the kangaroos will dart out onto the road without warning. Fortunately we drove slow and didn't hit any!

Below: The kangaroos just made us laugh. It was a lot of fun watching them hop around; a highlight for us.

Next stop: Sydney, Australia.
