Usually an actual game card was inserted into the newspaper as an advertising supplement to compliment the ad. That's brilliant marketing.

This clever ad, announcing a change in the game rules, makes it sound like it had become easier to win a prize in Shell's Mr. President Coin Game. In reality this change had no bearing on the odds of winning. The presidents circled are the key prize-winning coins that players had been trying to get all along.
